Based in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, near to the horse-show mecca around Toronto but right in the heart of Mennonite "horse and buggy" country, is Bluebird Lane Fjords. Our 50 acre farm overlooks Conestogo Lake and is bordered by the Grand River Conservation Area with its miles of wooded trails.

Bluebird Lane is run by the husband and wife team of Lori Albrough and Stefan Vorkoetter. We are lifelong horse people who have been breeding and training Fjord horses since 1996. A Pony Club graduate, Lori has a strong interest in dressage riding, and has been in training with the Canadian
Grand-Prix rider Ute Busse since 2000. Lori and her Fjord gelding Prisco have earned both Dressage Canada's > Bronze and Silver Medal Achievement Awards for high-scores received at > National competitions.

Our breeding program strives to produce Fjords of balanced conformation, good free movement, and willing trainable temperament. We start all our horses under saddle with a correct dressage foundation, and include riding out through fields and trails to further develop obedience and fitness. Our young horses are taught to go forward freely with an emphasis on the systematic development of the six principles of the training scale: relaxation, rhythm, contact, impulsion, straightness, and collection.

Check out our web site for photos of our treasured mares and our horses in training. Young and trained horses are available for sale
